Default Paul67, aka Paul79. One more question for you.

Remember those factory sway bar end link bushings? Well I'm just getting around to working on the bar and noticed that there's a metal tube thru the bushings. How difficult was it to remove these bushing & re-install new ones? Did you cut thm off? How did you get the new ones in?

I know you figured out an easy method. :yesnod: Appreciate you time. Nice C2 by the way.

If the bolt is to rusted to get the nut off Just tighten up the nut till it breaks off,
Won't take to much for them to break,
Pretty easy task,

I have no problem with the bolts/nuts. Looking for easy method to remove the 4 bushings and install new bushings, 2 from the bar & 2 from the end link.

I took a socket of the right outside diameter and pounded them out with a hammer. Reverse procedure for install but a little grease to ease entry. You will note from the pic that you MUST pound on one side only for removal: the side without the flange. I know that sounds obvious...Sorry.

Thanks Paul. I couldn't resist. I mounted the bar today. Disassembly isn't that difficult and the original bushings didn't look that bad and I can swap the bushings later. I couldn't believe the difference in the ride characteristics. I shoulda installed it months ago. Incredible difference with the bar than without. Very solid.

Justin,
I sold the 1979 to my younger Brother. The 1967 is my car for this summer.

No problem! I am putting my rear sway bar on the 1967. Probably this week. I am in the throes of a comparison/summary between the 1979 and the 1967. Sort of apples-and-oranges but there are some real differences that I would like to share. People might find that interesting. I will try to get it up soon.

Does that mean you're going to sell at the end of summer?

Justin,
I am well into my 50s. A 1967 was my dream for many years. As long as I can get into it (lower back problem) I will drive it. No, I will not sell it. Waited too long for this car. And dreams can come true: it is a fun car even with the base 327/300hp. Love it!

Paul, I feel like I need to say sorry about you selling the 79', but I suppose you must be good with it. I am such a Corvette fanatic that anytime anybody sells any Corvette I feel like I should feel bad for them as if they just buried a family member. :D The C2 is great. I would really like to have one someday, but for now the C3's are in my price range, and I keep running across pretty good deals on them so I'll go with it. C3 is my favorite generation anyway, but it's close to a tie with the C2's. Enjoy the midyear, it should be great fun. :auto:
