Are all Chevy V8 motor mounts the same?
Looking for motor mounts and the listings don't specify any difference between year or engine size....SB vs BB. Are they all the same as far as bolt alignment?
I'm looking to bolt an '87 BB into my 70.
Thanks
Len

Re: Are all Chevy V8 motor mounts the same? (1970 Stingray)
I think they are all the same. When I went to a bigblock in my 75 I justed used the original small block motor mounts on the bigblock. The starter motor and distributor also worked.

No, they are not all the same. There are some with 2 3/8" and some with 2 5/8" between the mounting ears, vettes are of the 2 5/8 variety. I am also going through this right now, I ended up buying a set of engine and tranny mounts from Energy Suspensions yesterday, and there was a Vette specific part number.

Usually the Vette specific part number is just so that they can charge you more because you have a Vette.... :mad

Those are the one's I had my eye on Corey. Very nice.
I checked Autozone's stock and they list 1970 SB & BB as the same number. However a 1989 SB had a different stock number.
I think I'll go with the Energy Suspension mounts.

7T2vette above said Vette's are the 2 5/8 variety. I'll follow Corey'd lead on this one.
