Are they metal/rigid with the 2 sided tape, or just regular decals?
I have used a heat gun before with good results on vinyl decals. I dont think a regular blow drier can get hot enough.
Use caution with that heat gun though. Use the low setting first and don't stay in one place too long.

Try a product called goo gone . It is harmless to paint and softens the adhesive backing under the emblems . After applying the goo gone a couple of times I take a length of mono fishing line and use it to separate the emblem from the body . I follow up with the goo gone on a soft cloth to clean the area . Requires a bit of patience but the results are worth it !

I agree Goo Gone is good. Get it at Home Depot.

I've successfully used a 3M product called "Lift-Off". Spray it on, wait 60 seconds and peel the sticker off. I've used it on paint without harm.

Thanks for all the quick responces. Yes, they are metal with adhesive back. I'll give the goo off stuff a try.

IF YOU ARE REMOVING DECALS OR STRIPES ANYTHING THAT IS A STICKER TYPE DECAL THE ABSOLUTE BEST THING IS A ROUND WHEEL THAT IS ABOUT 4 INCHES BY 1/2 OF AN INCH THAT LOOKS JUST LIKE A ROUND ERASER. YOU CAN BUY THEM AT AUTOMOTIVE PAINT STORES AND YOU USE THEM IN AN ORDINARY DRILL YOU WILL BE AMAZED AT HOW IT TAKES THE DECALS OFF WITH ABSOLUTELY NO DAMAGE TO THE PAINT

I was wanting to remove the dealer (raised metal sticker) off my new car and someone suggested a 3M product called Adhesive and wax remover. Went looking for it at Autozone and found Sticker Shock (Bumper Sticker Remover) and it worked well.

The cheapest way is to take your fingernail and peel it off, then go to the medicine cabinet and get the rubbing alcohol to remove the excess glue. Works every time.
