An exhaust/dirty plug question
I had an exhaust leak around cylinders 6 and 4. I also had a plug come out of 6 that was covered in carbon causing a miss in my engine. My question is can an exhaust leak contribute to the plug getting crudded up or am I looking at a valve job somewhere down the road? Let the wisdom flow forth!

Re: An exhaust/dirty plug question (CVT4ME)
The exhaust leak shouldn't affect the plug. Check your cap, rotor, and wires, then start thinking about the inside of the motor.

Re: An exhaust/dirty plug question (Desertdawg)
Thanks Desertdawg, that was what I was afraid of. I have new ignition wires and got the exhaust leak fixed and the car is running and sounding a ton better. I just wonder how many miles will go by before I have to pull the plug on #6 and clean the carbon off of it to get the engine to bang on all eight. Time to start looking at those Vortec heads I have been hearing so much about.
