chrome vent grills for 80-82???
As we all know by 1980 there was practically no more chrome...... pretty much only the door handles. But I have added a little more, I have the pipes and polished aluminum rims made by Prime. I think it would look better yet with chrome vent grills, (behind the front wheels). They're black right now. Has anyone ever heard of this, or know if they are available because I've never seen them in any color other than black.

bloodvette80, I saw them in somebody's 'sig', either here, or on the CROSS-FIRE FORUM/VAULT. They're on a Black '80-'82 (like mine), and they look REAL good (would go with my chromed OEM aluminum wheels!). If ANYBODY sees this 'sig pix', PLEASE let bloodvette 80 & I know..... :thumbs: Thanks in advance... :chevy

You can see in my sig picture that mine had been painted silver by the previous owner. That pic was taken back a few months ago. I have since repainted them with a chrome spray paint and they came out pretty nice looking. The silver was a little too dull and I wanted to see how painting the with chrome spray paint was. I can take a closer pic if you want and post it later. Let me know.

Fasteighty, that's not the pic I saw, but yours DO look very nice. A close-up pic may be helpful (along with part-number of the spray-bomb can you used :D ).......

Chrome spray paint is as close as I can think you could get. Check with Eastwood restoration.

Hey,
I work at a Chrome shop and they will Chrome just about anything metal (sorry no Wheels) for you. Plastic they can not do but I have heard of some places that can. But if the Vents are metal they can help you out. I know we have had several guys call us wanting to Chrome this and that for their late C3 vettes.

they are a rubber/plastic. probably the same material as the front/back bumper. (not metal therefore cannot be chromed) I could make a set, infact i should weld myelf a set of funky vents and have them chromed. Thanks for information everyone.

Chrome spray paint is cheap at Canadian Tire. I have used it to re-paint the interior chrome on the console.
I think chrome vent grills would look good. :cool:
