Cruise Control Re-install
When we bought the wifes 79, the Bubba's at CnV Corvette in Phoneix said they couldn't fix the cruise control. So without our approval they removed all the cruise control equipment before they shipped it(we're in Indiana). It took me 4 months to get the equipment from them. The stuff wasn't from our car it was broken and much was missing. Now we want to re-install the the equipment. Does anyone out there have any expirence trouble shooting the cruisesystem. I am accumulating all the parts I need and have an assembly manual to know where everything goes and I have a circut diagram. But I'm not sure how to check out the system I know that it won't engage unless the speed is 30mph or more. Any helpers out here?

Re: Cruise Control Re-install (87bob)
I spent ages trying to get mine to work on my 77. The discs on the vacum actuator were rusted. After many, many attempts I gave up and bypassed the damn thing !! :mad :mad

Is there anyway you could take pics of your work? I know that mine does not work but it is coming up on the list.
p.s. where is fraklin compared to greenfield? I believe I've played baseball there several times

We are about 25 miles south of downtown Indy on 65. I do have a digital camera to shoot photos but it won't tell you any more than the assembly manual will. The manual is nice because it shows the componets with out the stuff in the way.

Update got a rebuilt transducer from my local auto parts store and it has a system check out procedure for both the elec. and vacuum systems with diagrams. The price was 73.65+Tax.

Re: Cruise Control Re-install (87bob)
cool! I've been wondering the same: how to troubleshoot the cruise. I know we're not suppose to run the rear wheels with them hanging, so what would our alternatives be?
Thanks!
