Hood alignment with fenders
I'm looking at a '77 coupe and have looked at a neighbor's '77 as well. On both of these cars the edge of the right side of the hood doesn't sit flush with the top of the fender. It sits noticeably below the top. It matches up with the rear of the fender towards the windshield and at the front by the bumper. The left side matches up pretty well on both cars. The neighbor's car has worse alignment than the one I'm looking at.
Is this normal for these year vettes, or do some just have better body panel alignment than others? I really don't see that any hood adjustments would help with either car. Thanks.

Re: Hood alignment with fenders (lodom)
There should be some rubber blocks (two per side) that sit on the inboard fender lip that maintain hood height near the fenders. They may be missing. The AIM shows the mounting locations for them.

Re: Hood alignment with fenders (lodom)
i have a 78 and my hood does fits the same way (poorly)
at s body shop they told me to use 4 small foam blocks to push the
middle of the hood up to match the fender (ecklers sell them).
not impressed with with this fix.

Re: Hood alignment with fenders (1slow78)
Thanks for the suggestions. I just wanted to know if it was normal since I saw it on 2 vettes of the same year. The rubber blocks or the foam pieces seem like a possible solution. I'll check and see if the parts are missing this evening if I see the car again.
