find out what block is in a 74 model that has been worked over without taking it apart

There should be a casting number / date somewhere on the side of the block.

Holy shoot ! You let 11 chicks crawl onto the hood of your car ?
... and one has the bottom of her sneaker right on the hood !?!?!

Ok - I can see how one may get overwhelmed in that situation and do crazy things.

Bob, look at the block, in front of the heads, there should be a set of numbers stamped into the pad there. Also there are supposed to be a set of numbers cast into the back of the block just in behind the heads. Hope this helps some.
Post those numbers here and someone will be able to tell you if it is a vette motor or what it is.

ok here are the #s i can find
3970010 on the back of the block
V0318TKY on machine surface by head
I just do not remeber how to tell any more

The casting number,3970010, is correct for a 74 vette, 350ci,195hp, or 250hp motor. The other side of the block, should have numbers, that match the last numbers of the vin. Sorry I don't know how to decifer the other set of numbers.
