Default Rebuild FINALLY done! What's Up???

Well, I'm thrilled that my 6 month top end rebuild is finally done, but I have a few wierd goings on. First of all, I installed a new Oil Pressure Sending Unit and it only seems to work once the engine gets good and hot (i.e. after 30 minutes of continuous driving). What the heck could cause that? When it is working, it stays between about 18 and 41, otherwise its sticks at 20.

The other thing is that I have a "clicking" type of noise that only happens when I accellerate. If I'm idling or stable at 10mph or 65 mph - no noise. Since I just got the car back together, I thought it might just be valve lash. After adjusting them with the motor running, I can still hear it.

The odd thing about it is that it sounds somewhere between a valve click, an intake (vacuum) sound, and an exhaust leak. But, it does sound like it comes from the top of the motor. I can't figure it out. The engine seems to work fine, runs cool, and runs smooth, but I get that sound when accelerating. Thoughts??

Here are the rebuild pics, if anyone's interested...
