Re: Where it's at... 1976 Stingray...
It's hard to see the sidepipes in the pic...I'm planning on a custom made set of "shields" made from cold rolled steel of differing diameter welded in a cobweb pattern and chromed to wrap the pipes...

For a second there, I thought the towels clamped on your fenders were actually the paint job  . I was gonna say, they match the purple engine nicely :jester .
Looks great!!

Re: Pic of my 383 (SmokedTires)
I'm back...after logging on at the office, I had some trouble getting back on here at home.
The towels were a quick fix to protect the new paint job. $1.99 beach towels.
I actually started with puller fans, but elected to go with the pushers for the look. The pushers coupled with a high flow Stewart are proving adequate...even with the underdrive pulley (part of a March serpentine conversion). Air flow was not adequate at first...but a quick fix job with a plasma cutter and some sheet aluminum to create an air dam quickly dropped the temp to the 195° to 210° range. We're learning about the air-flow characteristics of C3s...maybe pullers would make air flow less important, but I don't think so.

Man, that is gorgeous. I'd really like to see pics of that interior.
I'm thinking of going the 383 route myself in the distant future. Around how much was all the engine work, if you don't mind me asking?

I see you moved the alternator to the passenger side, it looks like that would make it easier to fill the power steering reservoir?

The windshield trim blew off on one of my first runs...lessen learned - re-enforce everything when you increase HP ;-)

Re: Pic of my 383 (74 vert)
Easier PS reservoir access...BONUS. Actually, the Florida heat may drive me to install an aftermarket A/C. The alternator mount may pose a problem with standard fitment ???
