awesome, you know those are about 400 HP, my boss has a 91 with a ZR-1, he just put on a 3" flowmaster exhaust system and it supposedly added 35 horespower.

The novelty of an LT5 wouldn't be worth the $10,000 - 15,000 price tag for me. Although they are really cool.

I'm planning on an LT5 and C4 suspension. Yes an LT5 is expensive, but for a custom pro touring show car, the  factor would be worth it IMO. Compare the cost of a built 350 with custom TPI, the cost isn't too far apart if at all. I've wanted to build a custom Vette from the ground up since I was in grade school . . . the time has finally come. Sure hope I can finish the car before the decade is over. I haven't posted anything about my plans for an LT5 C3 since talk is cheap. I'll start posting when the work really begins, hopefully withing the next 12 months.

There's a wrecked 90 ZR-1 that I've looked at, I'm planning on making a pretty low offer in the next month or so. The LT5 is probably okay, but the tranny has been ripped from the bellhousing and the input shaft is still partially connected. With that kind of risk, the motor just isn't worth the $6000 or more used ones that run sell for. Also the batwing is broken in half, not sure if anything else took a hit. The car's been sitting outside for 4-6 months in the elements partially protected with a tarp. The interior is toast, nothing to sell there. Only the rear clip fiberglass is any good, maybe $1400 on the used market, so with all of the work involved to part her out and pull everything off along with the risk . . . just not worth top dollar to me. Hopefully cash will talk. :yesnod: I'm also hoping to stumble across a 93 or newer model since the 90 is only a two bolt. Probably doesn't matter since I'll keep the motor pretty much stock, but 4 bolt sure sounds better.

Yes I'll be upside down, but she'll never be for sale, so who cares. Here's a pic of my plans. The estimate is now 14 pages and I'm sure I'm off by $10,000. Oh well, it'll sure be fun.
