Default Looking for an old Texas license plate store

I lost my front license plate and decided that if I'm going to buy plates, it's going to be 1969 plates.

Anybody know a place that sells old Texas license plates? I know I've seen tables setup at swap meets, but I don't know of any that are coming up soon and my car is up for registration next month.

Chris,
Do some web research on the American License Plate Collectors Association (ALPCA). There will be any number of those guys who will have an extra '69 plate they're willing to sell you.

BTW, in Utah, only 1968 and older vehicles can legally wear an out-of-date plate. I hope for your sake that Texas law is different!

good luck, :seeya

There is a guy somewhere out of Houston that sells the plates, got his business card at home. Will post tonight if no other response.

By the way, I got my Texas plates on eBay.

Call Jesse Perez in San Antonio. His phone number is 210-532-7456. He's got the best prices in Texas! He also does many swap meets throughout the state...

In AZ we don't have to run a front plate, and if we do, I think it can be any plate we want. I don't know if there would be a problem running an outdated or out of state plate on the front.

Jesse does a good job. You can legally run these in Texas. Expect to pay
$60 to $90 for a never issued set of plates for 1969.

Thanks, I'll give Jesse a call.

The problem with the ALPCA people is that they don't usually keep the pair of plates. In Tx, I need a pair to get it registered.

That is the one I had the business card from. He is always at the Houston show. Address is P.O. Box 515, Porter TX 77365.

He also has the correct inspection stickers for your car year.
