79 dual air snorkel hose alternatives?
Has anyone used anything different for the snorkel hoses from the air cleaner to the ducts? I replaced the front one which was missing when I purchased the car. I bought it from Zip. It never really seemed to fit right, a little small on both ends. It fell off the other day and got whacked by the fan, so now I am re-thinking the design.
Would it improve air flow to have a smoothe surface instead of an accordian? Has anyone found something to use as a replacement? I was thinking of some gaint rubber pipe clamps, the ones with hose clamps on both ends. It they were long enough, do you think they would work?
Or should I forget about the connections and get one of those K&N filter lids?

Re: 79 dual air snorkel hose alternatives? (isosceles)
Clothes dryer ducting? Sounds kinda Bubba-ish, plus it really doesn't handle high-temps that well, especially considering it's for a clothes dyer. I think the diameter is artound 4 or 5 inches.

The snorkle hose that goes into the shroud cover (close to the AC unit) doesnt fit very well and most of the ones Ive seen (including mine) have a screw holding it on......LT
