68-72 Wiper Door Bolts???
I broke all four bolts and was wondering if anyone out there knows the size and pitch of these bolts so I can rethread the holes while waiting for the new bolts to arrive?

Hey Tim,
Welcome to the club, those ALWAYS break. Somone posted a thread here a little while ago about a repair kit for those but I can't find it. Maybe one of the other members can chime in here.

I read in the for sale about wiper bolt kit. I paypaled chev60bad@aol.com and he answered right back that it would be in the mail tomorrow. This kit is for the holes that are stripped. I don't know if mine are bad, but I wanted to be prepared when I start the fixup on the 71. Look down in the parts for sale and you will see 68-72 wiper door repair kit.

I bought the above mentioned kits from George too. Got them within a couple days and it arrived in a "retail-type" packaging. Mine aren't stripped but I only had 3 ragedy bolts left. His kit appears to be quality parts. Eckler's will probably charge $39.99 when they start supplying. :eek:

Sir, if you mean the 4 shouldered bolts that hold the wiper door to the lift unit{not the grill}, these special bolts are avaliable from some corvette venders and still avaliable from GM. GM also has the special white stepped washers or bushings, but come in a pack of 50. If you are gunna try and remove the broken bolts, becareful, the door is puter and very soft, if your drill bit walks a little you will have a very big and crokked hole. Thad

Keep in mind that the repair kits I listed in C3 Parts For Sale are to repair the threads that retain the wiper door GRILL, not the wiper door itself. I'm talking about the grill that is mounted between the hood and the wiper door.
The thread listing these kits in For Sale has been taken down. I was told to talk to Troy before proceeding. I can still answer questions however, so please ask if you have a question.

I just got one of the kits from George. Installed it the next day. It was simple and worked GREAT! I highly recommend it. :yesnod: :cheers:

Doc Rebuild-
The repair kit is for the grill in front of the wiper door on 68-72. It repairs the threads for the screws that mount this grill. It works well, and is easy to install.
