Default speedometer troubles

it just doesnt work. should i start at the tranny or at the meter? or :confused: somewhere else?

I would start at the tranny. Get the car up high enough to pull the cable at the tranny. Chuck your drill motor up to the cable at the tranny end. Run the drill in reverse and have someone watch the speedo while the drill is running and see if the speedo reacts. If not I would replace the speedo cable and repeat the process. You could also make not of the mileage on the odometer and do this job by yourself. After each run see if the mileage has changed.
