Antenna 1980
I installed a new Kenwood CD/AM/FM in 1980 and when I turn unit on, the antenna DOES NOT come up.... Thought I had it hooked up correctly but obviously didn't do something right.
Any ideas ?

Re: Antenna 1980 (azswede1960)
Is it the stock power antenna unit? And did it work before the new stereo?
Mine was already broken, so I just replaced mine with a new antenna (not too expensive). The new unit had one wire that was powered all the time, and another wire that ties into the amp/antenna/accessory wire on the stereo that makes the antenna go up and down. If it was already an aftermarket stereo, the line powering the antenna should be the same. I think the stock stereo used relays or something, I'm not too sure.

Re: Antenna 1980 (Enkil)
The car had both stock unit and stock antenna when I got it. Antenna did work before I changed out units.
There is two outputs from the new unit:
1) Power Cont (Power control/Motor antenna control wire (blue/white) that I connected to power antenna
2) Antenna Control - That manual for new unit says is "Not Used"
Could it be a relay inbetween unit and antenna that needs to be removed?
