I have been waving since 1965, until this past year.

I never wave at C5's or C4's anymore. I don't care anymore. I just look the other way now.

BTW, what you have to take into account is many C5 owners are first time vette owners and simply do not know any better!

i guess i am lucky.. every corvette i have ever run across while I was driving mine waved back

although people give me funny looks at times when I am in my expedition and wave forgetting i am in the wrong car

I thought the same thing a while ago, too many C5's pass right by and the real bummer is that I know they see me, the just stare right ahead. We must however not lump these grumpy sports car "leasers" with the real Corvette entusiasts, many of whom are members of this forum.

Case in point I was behind a C5 the other day and I could see it was an older gent with the wife. I thought no way is this guy going to acknowlege me, as wife would probably think he was nuts if he waved to a stranger. Well I never even got close to him and he turned right and as he did he stuck his arm out the window with a big wave, he must have seen me in his mirror. Have faith,
and remember some of them are real good guys/gals. :D

I too plan on not even paying attention to them I bet I've met 50 plus C4/C5's in the last few months and I can count on one hand how many have waved back. I bet if they see me they go who's that idiot I don't know him and why is he driving that funny looking old car.. As he looks over at his wife and goes people sure are strange around here.. :lol: :lol: Dave..

I always wave, I am ignored most of the time, but maybe they will try to find out why other Corvettes are waving at them all the time and start waving themself.

Maybe at a little after 10PM CDT tonight I will get the call that I won that Gold C-5 at the Corvette Museum and I get to snub you all too. :lol:

thats gonna be a lot of wavin being that i see C5s more often than i see ford taurus' around here. And not a damn one of them wave.

every time i start thinking i want a new one i wonder....

We probably need to blame the salesmen at the dealerships for not informing them of the tradition. As long C3 owner I also own a C5 as of a month ago. I've been waving... just keep it up, if they haven't been told they'll eventually catch on. I don't take it to heart. It's like sharing your faith with someone, one may slam the door in your face but the next one might be receiptive and receive Christ. Keep-on keeping-on!!! :thumbs: :thumbs: :chevy

C5, C4 ....I'd rather have a mustang fastback. C3 or nothing for me, although I am starting to like the C2's ...but not for the price.

I will wave to anyone friendly enought to wave first -whatever either of us is driving. I will wave to other c3's first if i can. :seeya

81' Corvette Guy

Well went to go pick up some lunch today. My parents came over to our house..so I was picking up the tab for lunch. My dad and I got in the car and took off. Had 4 people comment positivly on the car on the trip to get food. On the way back, saw a sweet lil silver 79. Older gentleman and his wife..or GF..Go Boy Go! Uhm, any how..we exchanged glances and then waved at one another with big grins.. :D ! Hell, I have been stranded on the side of roads and had fellow C3's stop asking if they could help! But alas, I do find that owners of newer vettes wave far less the those of our own C3's. Will keep waving...maybe someday they will understand the commerodery..we have here..{sp}. Keep waving all..and save the wave!
