How low is your rear end?
I was checking and currently my car is 30" from ground to fender. What is everybody else got. I am going to have my rear spring re bent, and I need to tell them how much to change it.
p.s. my front end is at atbout 27"
Thanks.

Why rebend the spring? lower the nut on each spring bolt. You can see them from looking behind the car and crouching down. 30" is VERY high.
Do you mean to the inside of the fender? or the center of the fender lip? My car is prolly 27.5" or so to the rear fender lip.

Re: How low is your rear end? (Pacin'California)
I have tried the bolt trick, and I either have to get the really really long bolts from a supplier or rebend the spring. I can get the spring done locally for about $35 CDN, and the bolts would probally cost about that much by the time I got them up here. Plus I need to loose about 3 inches.
So I think that the rebending witll be the quickest and most painless way to do it.
I ment the center of the fender lip.
My car looks kinda like an offroad truck on the rear end now.

1st of all, my '82 will turn-over the 18,000 mile mark my next trip to the local Dairy Queen, and has led a VERY 'babied' life; I doubt the suspension has 'sagged' very much. Second, I've replaced the dry-rotted Eagle GTs with BFG TAs in the same size (255-60R15), altho I believe the TAs are a bit 'taller'. Having said that, here are the 'specs', fresh from my garage: Front spindle height-13", fender lip @ 27.75". Rear spindle height-13", fender lip @ 28.25". Hope this helps..... :chevy

It looks like I will go somwhere around 27.5-28". Thanks for the info. Finally I can fix the amazing 4x4 rear end on my car :-)

You should be able to get grade 8 bolts 8" ? and nuts at a hardware store.
Down here, ACE sells them. Probably less than $10 US...
