Default Fast idle question

When I warm her up in the morning, she idles pretty fast, maybe about 1500-1600 rpms. Is this bad? As soon as I touch the gas, it drops down to normal.

That's perfect! Check your emissions sticker for your high idle setting. Mine is 1600.

It's supposed to idle fast. I you have a q-jet, the fast idle adjuster is on the passenger side, down low on the carb. Personally, I don't thing you're in too bad of shape.

Mine is weird. The fast idle is at 1000, but after about 1-2 mins it goes to 1600...what adjustment would that be, the step on the rod?
