Date code for 69' manifold & carbs
I need to find the date codes on my intake manifold and carbs. The intake is a 69 3 deuce (......795) and the carbs. Where are these numbers located?
Thanks,
Steve

Re: Date code for 69' manifold & carbs (69L68)
I'm not sure about your carbs because I have a L36 however you will have to remove the intake to see the date it is cast on the bottom.

Here is what "the book" says (NCRS Tech info manual & JG):
(edited so I dont have to type out an entire paragraph! :)
On the front of the air horn, 3 lines, 1st line = GM 7 digit number, 2nd line = Holley list number, 3rd line = date code. On top of each metering block is a 4 digit part number.
Holley carb date codes:
1st digit = last # in year of production , ie 9=1969
2nd digit = month of production 1 thru 9, then O=Oct, A=Nov, and B=Dec
3rd digit = week of month.
So, do you see any numbers that look like date codes? :) MJ
For the intake, 3937795 is the right L68 manifold#, and as mentioned above, "Aluminum intake manifolds have their casting date codes on the underside and cannot be judged."
