TPI Project Update... photos
Well, this is certainly taking longer than I had hoped, but it's finally coming together.
The engine came out on Sunday and it's now clean and ready for the new cam and rear main seal. Here are a couple of in progress photos as well as the workout room which has become the parts depository... to my wife's dismay. :D:D
The vintage air just arrived at the dealer today so I'll be picking that up tomorrow and running the wiring harness too.
With a little luck, I'll get the engine back together and painted by Wednesday so that I can get it back into the car over the weekend.
Yea... right.

Looks great. This is the perfect time to clean up that firewall and engine bay so you can show off your tpi setup.

That's the plan, but all is dependent on $$ :D

You must hate starting to tear things apart when it's reaching 70 around here.
My fever is growing strong, so I fear that I will start rushing things.
Good luck - hope she's running again soon.
Haha - I like that tranny supported by the Ttop bar. THAT is thinking out of the box !!

With any luck it'll be back together by this weekend and I will be able to get it aligned within 2 weeks. OK.... with a lot of luck. :D:D
I ended up using the Comp Cam XE256 TPI version. Should be good for the stock 3.08 rear, TH400 auto and stock stall converter.
From here, I can upgrade slowly as needed and $$ becomes available. I've already sunk a ton of money into this car over the last 2 years. Front and rear suspension, steering, brakes and now TPI, exhaust, vintage air, stereo.... Time to get a better job. :)

Nice to see all that heavy iron in the workout room! ;)
Your TPI project is moving a LOT faster than mine! As usual I have been sidetracked. This time its back yard work (among other stuff). I hope to have mine all buttoned up by the end of the year. :) Won't look nearly as nice as yours, but hopefully it will still have plenty of grunt. :)
good luck man, looks good.

Hit a snag....
It seems that one of my pushrods is broken and the tip is.... somewhere.
There is a lot of metal in the heads although with a little luck it may just be the rocker arm retainer.
It looks like minimum, I need new heads.
I'm looking into World Torquer SRs or Dart Iron Eagle.... With the stock TPI, I don't think much more will be worth it. Any comments?

i think anything bigger then the world products sportsman 2 heads 200cc would be too much,i have them on there now and it does feel like low end is lost alittle over a typical tpi motor but with the low 1st gear of the 700 and my 3.70 gears it still spins very easy with light throttle.the torquers might be a better bet.
