Default Calling on all you Electrical gurus or anyone else that may know

I was thinking of running a starter cut out circit though the netural cut out switch in the shifter to theold alarm switch on the fender making a 2 switch system one of course could be closed with the key for the fender.
However I was wondering if this switch would handel the current. The leads on the switch look kind of small.
Do any of you guys know if this will work?
I would hate to hook it up and find out at a car show that it doesn't work and then what :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
Thanks in advance.

It will not handle the load but you could use a 12 volt relay with normally closed dry contacts,You would connect the coil on the relay to the switch and then run the starter wires to the dry contacts

Let me get this straight. You want the fender switch to take the place of the the neutral safety switch to achieve a starter disable effect????

Good idea, it should work. Both the neutral switch and fender switch are low amp switches. The starter silinoid(sp) handles all the high amperage.

anytime a car won't crank i just put a screwdriver across the starter solenoid.

i use 3, 12 position hidden switches to ground the coil. "999 combinations";
can crank all day and it wont start
Now, if i can remember the combination, i will go for a ride :lol:

:iagree: with "71,454,4spd". Use #14 AWG wires in series with the neutral safety switch.

Hmmm, not sure why the NS switch would have larger wire maybe for heat concerns. If you were closer I would let you borrow my DC amp meter. You could hook a DC amp guage to the 2 wires for the NS to find out what its drawing on start before you go too far, thats what I would do.

Sure, if it pegs it or close to 20 amps your fender switch may not be able to handle that.... Is your amp meter DC?
