So I needed an excuse to drive the vette yesterday
I spent most of the day Saturday cleaning out the garage and putting 3 coats of Zaino on the freshly buffed paint and didn't really get a chance to drive her. On Sunday I spent the morning dropping out the spare tire carrier and repairing a crack that I've had since I got the car. After that my wife wanted me to go to a department store with her so that she could return something. It seemed like the perfect excuse to take "Baby" out so we jumped in and I parked in front of the store while my wife went in. While she was in there a group of boys from around 13 to 16 walked up to the front of the store. It was comical, I think a few actually had drool running down the side of their mouths. My wife came out after the transaction and I told her to watch what happened when I started it. I cranked her up and let her idle for a minute while I put my seat belt on. I then revved her a little and pulled away. I think by the time I hit second 3 or 4 had gone right through puberty. Just a little story I thought you guys would like. :chevy

Very cool. I just had to get mine out yesterday too. The wife wanted a can of Rustoleum to paint some of her gardening stuff. So.... out came the vette. Its good to be a vette owner. Now today I will have to go get........hmmmmmm, I will think of something to go get.
Time to get your cars out guys. :steering:

I used to love to pick my duaghter up at high school to see the kids reations. One time she comes walking up to the vet with a group of kids and she stops to get in and a boys says thats funny acting like thats your dads cars. Then she replied really it's his car and walked up to it some of them were shocked.
However she got her license in the fall now I don't get to do it :(

Hey Eddie 70, that is amazing!!!
My wife and I did the same thing yesterday!!
She has these little frogs sitting on benches, and wanted them painted as
well. Out came the Vette, and up to Lowe's we went for the paint.
Just told her about you, and she cracked up. Looks like we werent the only
people who needed an excuse to take the Vette out!!

My favorite excuse is:
"Honey, I'm going for gas for the Corvette"
I usually return about an hour later. :D

I really do like this time of year too. I get to read all of these posts of how happy your are getting your vette's out for the first time of the year....
It puts a smile on my face just thinking about it.....
Oh, and so you don't think I came in here just to read about all your fun....I took my 82 up to the quicky-mart, yesterday evening with the wife riding shotgun. And it turned into a hour long drive.....Big :D
