grease nipple on a arms?
not sure what I'm talking about here, so if it makes no sense I can post a pic, but the grease nipple on whta I think are the A-arms is very messy and I assume not working, how would I go about fixing this? If this makes no sense I'll do some more research and try again...

Two things can be wrong with grease fittings. 1, They can be clogged which would not allow grease to be pumped in. 2, the checkball in the middle can be frozen or dirty and not return to seat, which would allow grease to come back out. Wipe the gunk away with a rag and scratch it up with a wire brush. Then take a sharp object like a ***** punch and poke on the tiny steel ball in the center of the fitting to see if the ball freely moves up and down and returns to seat. If its too messed up and you cant get it working its really easy to unscrew the old one, and screw in a new one.

The grease was so caked up so hard on my 70 I had to use a giant screwdriver and hammer to remove the hardened gunk. :U I got it all off and put new grease fittings in while I had the front suspension apart for rebuild. If you do change the grease fittings, put some caps on the new ones to keep crud out of the new fittings.

Why does that induce thoughts of extreme pain ?
