How come rear lower shock mounts tend to break?
I just did my rear shocks today. Had no problem... they were about 10 years old or so, so I guess age was on my side.
With a little bit of foot action, a little bit of wiggling, a little bit more wiggling, a little bit of cursing followed by a lot of pushing, they were off.
How come the shock mounts tend to get screwed up? Is it the REALLY old ones just getting frozen into place? Cars that haven't had shocks done in 20+ years...

They have a serrated portion that press in pretty tight. They can be real tough to get out, but I have never seen one just break. I have had eight C-3's and neve had problem other than that.
