Default First pictures of my fiberglass sub box

The first layer has hardened up and it looks like I will be able to get it out in 1 or 2 pieces. :-)

Here are some pictures.

I took a few with one of the old 4x6 speakers in the well so you can get the size of it.

I have to measure the CU when I get it out to see what I got. I am not sure what it is, but I am hoping for around 1CU.

The entire sub and box will disapear under the rear compartment lid. (I hope)

Nice! I built a box to sit on top of the rear interior deck. I will post some pics when it is finally in position. Mine is also one 10 inch sub. I would have loved to have done it your way, I just didn't trust my glassing skills. Make sure to post the end result pics.

REDSHARKONBOYDS> Thanks. Hopefully everything will work. I am still trying to figgure out how I am going to attach the top. This is a bit of an experment. Hopefully it will all work.

A C> The last thing I glased was a remote control boat. So I was kinda worried, but hey. If it didn't work, well I would just throw it out and try again with MDF :-)

I will be sure to post pictures when it is all done. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

I was wondering if it was going to be removable. I would much rather do that than what I am doing...it would free up some valuable space in the back.

I am going to try to make it removable. Hopefully the box will come out kind of easy, but the way I made it that will probably not be possible. (I am going to remove it to finish working on it)

The 10" sub I have just will not fit through the opening in the compartment, plus I made the box actually 1 and a half compartments wide, so without taking off the top of the compartments (all of them), there is no way mine will come out.

I never used the jack compartment for anything but the jack, and currently without a spare tire, it really doesn't do me much good :-)

I am sure if you made the box a bit smaller, and maybe went with an 8" sub, you might be able to remove it without to much trouble. Although the top of the compartment would still be what determine if you can do that or not.

I was going for cubic footage. So I made it as big as I could get.
