Help! Hood won't release.
Just took my car out after putting in new engine now my hood won't open. The drivers side will release but not the passengers side. I can reach in and pull on the cable that goes to the passenger side but it won't open. Any ideas on how to open? Help.

Does it feel like loose cable only or do you seem to feel the latch move? If it has decent resistance have someone push down on your hood while you pull the cable, may be just enough to get it to release.

pry the hood up on the drivers side just enough to get your hand under there and pull the release towards the rear while still pulling up in the hood, this should release it....thats how i do it!

Had the same problem when the hood release cable broke. Mid America has a diagram on going in trrough the WW box. You can also jack the car and get way under and reach up w/vice grips and release. Since this is a PITA I suggest you attach a wire release for use in the future. Good luck.
