35 mph....big, big tree.....
this sucks. luckily it was not my corvette, but i put my datsun into a tree today. :nonod: lemme explain....the floor mat cracked a bit, and one day a few weeks ago my gas pedal got caught on it and held wide open. not a problem then, as i just killed the motor, fixed it real quick, and kept driving. but today, i guess the carpet made it's way into that position again. only this time i was in a bend, and it just started raining. car slid to one side, then quickly jerked to the other side, WOT. dammit, if i had thought a little clearer, i would have pulled it out of gear instead of trying to correct the slide. it swerved back to the other side, jumped the curb, and straight into a very huge tree, at over 35 mph. i didn't get hurt at all, but the tree pushed about 3 feet into my car. coolant ran out, but i don't think the engine is harmed. the only thing i can think of now, is that i can get an '82 datsun that has been sitting for years, and i will swap out everything i damaged. as long as i didn't hit the frame, it should be repairable.
$400 car or not, i feel so bad for it. :( it never gave me a problem, and i had plans to make the little body repairs it already needed, and put some paint on it. now, i dunno if it'll ever move again.

Ya gotta wonder why people park their trees right where others like to drive their datsuns. :D
Glad to hear you're not hurt!
