Water neck falacy ended
This has to be the most beautiful sight to come home to, it's like Christmas all over again in the Cali household.
I bought the new water neck, altenator arm and various braided hosing
Although the water neck did seal when tested it didn't work with both supplied allen bolts as the left side of the intake is not threaded deep enough and although I could have cut the bolt short I do not have a thread chaser so I used the old ARP bolts.
anyone know where I can get a Chrome altenator arm that works with Vettes? As you can see the angle of the arm is too shallow and couldn't use this one.
The one worry is the neck is 3 inches higher and thus it causes the hose to kink up underneath and hit the air cleaner however it is not fully collapsed and maintained full flow and temp on the road test.
Check this out, this shot taken at 1500 RPM looks like the motor is dead still, look you can clearly read the fan belt writing, love this digital camera!
Well thats it, she's offically done!!
Until I break something else.

I would throw that chrome altrnator bracket in the trash.I had one and it kept tourqing and causing belt squeal due to inferior metal(which a lot of the chome aftermarket pieces are)You cn still buy the genuine Gm ones for 12 bucks from the dealer  .........LOOKS GREAT BY THE WAY

Cali it's lookin' sweet! Wanna go for a romp this weekend?
I bought that same alternator arm. I had to cut it off below the top hole and round the edges. If you use the top hole it should fit. (at least for me)

Yeah... after thinking about it I realized that I changed the belts cause I added the chrome pulleys at the same time. Just uploaded this pics tonight that I took this past weekend. As you can see it just barely fit.

You should be able to find an altenator arm (chrome) from any autoparts store that carries Spectre acessories. You could also order from Eckler's
and Jegs.

Re: Water neck falacy ended (groovyjay)
Yeah should have done the same but I've used it, drove it can't return it. But it works, doesn't leak and so it will stay, screw it.

Re: Water neck falacy ended (Cali,77,L-82)
I'm getting ready to replace the ARP bolt with the correct (recessed) allen bolt that I took to work and had cut to 8/10" length than chased the threads. Overall the angle Groovy jay has would look better but I've made the mistake and it works, doesn't crimp the hose, doesn't overheat. Now I might try some foam between the aircleaner and hose to prevent the aircleaner from chaffing and scratching/ rubbing through the braided hosing.

Re: Water neck falacy ended (Alwyn678)
Connect the alternator arm to the back of where you currently have it mounted at the alternator. Basically reverse how you have it connected at the alternator. I know that not how it is supposed to be, but the question is - does it fix the problem ?
