Default BAD NEWS.....GOOD NEWS..

The bad news is.... When I came home from work today I saw a puddle of gas leaking from the right rear of my 69. The good news is it is only A hose.. Bad news... I just put $25 worth of gas in it yesterday. And for today's project...... It's always something.

You aren't kidding there. At least it's a cheap fix and you don't have to replace the tank. How's the 69 doing otherwise Larry?

Hi Scott... Everything is just fine.... I just have to figure out how to get the hoses switched quick so I don't get a gas bath...

Sorry to hear about the hose problem, but I'm glad it is "simple".

Can you siphon from the '69 to the Lumina??? Just an idea.

BTW---Harbor Freight up on 436 (and Howell Branch I think) had a nifty siphon starter on sale this month for $4 or $5. I picked one up and it works like a champ!!! A few pumps on the plunger and you'r in business--without that lovely gas flavored mouthwash.

O.K. that's fixed... send me the next batch of trouble....  It looks like the original tank to fuel line hose finally rotted. I managed to only loose a few ounces of fuel, unfortunately most of it ran down my arm. I'm ok with that though. Better than having a tank leak.

Larry- next time you're near a flea market stop in and pick up a couple of those surgical clamp things, they work nice and lock closed. I knew you could change the hose without too much trouble.

Absolutely. HEMOSTATs.... I broke my accelerator cable in a VW on the way to the beach many years ago. Had it fixed in less than 2 minutes using a Hemostat and drove it that way for years..... Hemostat clamped on cable and around carb linkage... :yesnod:
