Default UNDERCAR CHAMBERED EXHAUST

Has anyone any experience with these systems? Thinking of installing on my '71 SB, with the stock tips/bezels. Pros? Cons? Thanks... :)

Definitely will be LOUD! Not bad at highway speeds, but will let everybody know you are in the area when you really get on it. Thought my wife will really complain, but she does not mind on short cruises. Get some vibrations in car. I need to extend tips about another 2" to 3" to clear back bumper completely. Don't have to worry about burning legs like with side pipes.

Had a set but the noise that reverberated inside the car at lower rpms was not for me.Installed a set of repo oem sidepipes and chrome covers.Looks, sound and NO burning of legs.

I have had a chambered exhaust on my header equipped 73 for about three seasons. It seems to get more mellow sounding each year. For some reason it has less bark than in the beginning. I like the sound myself.

I've got the 2.5" on my 73 with headers and the stock tips. I like it. I don't get the reverb that several have complained about when using with manifolds. Has a good 60's sound.

I have the Allen's brand 2.5" aluminized steel system and love it. Great sound.

2 1/2" Mid-Am pipes get it done for me........Suggest you try them w/o an "H" Pipe 1st as that mellowed mine down a bit..........

Thanks all for the input. I believe the undercar route is worth a try. I doubt that the wife and daughter would enjoy being burned. Come to think of it, I don't think I'd like it either...

I had Mid America's on my 70 l-46 vert. VERY VERY loud at WOT. Big time vibrations and they are a huge restriction in the exhaust. They may come in a 2.5 inch size on the outside, but the inside diam. is around 2 inches thru the baffles. You can do better with exhaust.
