Default Putting a blower on my 79 L48 350

Sure was nice to get the Vette out last Sun. here in Wis and go for a cruise finally! lots of heavy metal out and about.

Anyway I have a question about putting a blower on my 350 that was done over before I bought it. .30 over and a slight cam but I do not know how much else was done..I would like to put one on without doing anything to the bottom end. In other words can I put on on with only about 3psi of pressure or so and be ok? has anybody did this? and what was the cost, Nothing like the sight of a blower and big ol belt sticking out of the hood!

It isn't worth it unless you are going to build it for the blower. I've never heard of people running 3psi, usually 6psi is the minimum. Don't bother. Plus it really obstructs your view to the right.

I agree, if you are going to go that route build it right the first time. I've never heard of running 3 psi of boost either. If you don't have the heads/cam to support it there's not much sense. The bottom end plays a big part too. Cranking the boost up with a cast rotating assembly will lead to nothing but a mess of broken parts. Going the blower route is expensive, there's more to it than just slapping it on there and going to town.

:iagree: Pistons and compression, cam, heads/valves all need to match supercharger. Without the right parts you might not see anymore power.

I'm with the others, don't just bolt on blower on your current set up, make sure rest of the motor is up to it. When done properly it's going to be real :steering:
