are chevy fuel pumps the same? BBC guys needed
I was given a BBC fuel pump a nice new Holley but I have a small block car. The mounting gaskets look the same as the SB, so will the BB pump bolt up and run? I know BB oil pumps work in SB.

BB and SB pumps have a slightly different arm size and configuration. They may work, but I wouldnt chance it. I know that a SB pump in a BB will run, but typically starves for fuel at higher RPMs.

I bought a new BB fuel pump and the instructions had a caution that the pump was to only be used on BBC's

My BB has two mouting holes for the fuel pump and both my SBC's have 4 mounting bolt holes.....there's no way I could use a BB pump on my SB's or vice-versa. In addition the cam rod on the SB runs thru the cavity which is covered by the pump. On the BB the cam rod is at the bottom of the pump.

I learned the hard way that not even all small block pumps are the same.
The rocker arms are at least a couple different lengths. Broke two before

No, they don't interchange. The arms are definitely different.
The 4 bolts on a small block are through the pump rod cavity cover plate. Two 1/4" bolts at the bottom and the two 3/8" ones through the pump. The big block has no cover plate. The pushrod is essentially the same and at approx. same angle. The big block has a pipe plug to access the rod and the small block uses the cover plate to gain access.
