OK, The hardest thing to do is "?" on a vette.
Put those damn control arm bolts in........... :mad :mad :mad I tried the Smokehouse trick and couldn't get the wire through, so I had to revert to the allen wrench and needle nose pliers. Got one side done....

Acutally, the upper left nut on the power brake booster, under the dash rates right up there with damn near impossible. :smash:

I'd say dis-assembling the rear suspension for the first time in 27 years ....

Based on nthe "size" of the job, changing out the short rubber hoses from the auto transmission cooling pipes to the radiator....... Got to do one of mine, and having taken it off, have no clue how to get a new one back on in the 2 square inches available to work in!

Radiators on A/C cars is a tough job.

So far, the hardest job I've had to do was last nights one. My 2 year anniversary of Vette ownership was celebrated by dropping the tranny. This is darn awkward with the car up on axle stands, a face full of trans fluid & not enough space to get a good grip on it :( Fitting the new tranny is gonna be even worse! (Stephen, know anybody after a TH350C???).
The absolute hardest job to do on a Vette is to STOP MODIFYING IT!!!! I've already got major plans for the next 2 winters (expensive plans :( ) & that doesn't include the "normal" restoration work! Is this an illness or just a form of insanity?

Yup! Stephen, see above quote!! If you take off the upper supports so that you can wiggle the Rad about, or get a willing helper to hold it up, then the job is a lot easier (not easy, just easier!)

Well, I was REALLY hoping not to get into moving the rad again.... but I confess it looked like that may be a big help, along with some right angled pliers! Good luck with that trans! I’ll keep in mind that you have a TH350 and if I hear anything I’ll let you know!

Anything to do with working under the dash has my vote. Rear suspension was tricky but I didn't have to call the chiropractor afterwards. :smash:

Budman78,try a large pair of hemostats, can buy them at sporting goods store in fishing section.Worked great for me.
I agree with the radiator, shroud or support as being the most difficult to do.Time wise,I pulled my engine in less time then I have ever been able to R&R any of those and a lot eaiser to.

routing the spark plug wires the correct way, through the shielding, and under the motor mount is about as much fun as getting your wisdom teeth pulled! :banghead:

OH YEAH.. I still have nightmares about some of these jobs! :reddevil
Pulling/installing the AC condenser with the rad in.... :cuss
Fan shroud...
The rear nut on outside door handle... :cuss
Glass and pwr window regulator/motor... :cuss
But my vote for worst is heater core W/AC :cuss :reddevil :cuss :reddevil

Heater core with AC wasn't bad, but removing some of the interior bolts is a royal PIA - like that one in the center of the parking brake console only accessed from the jack compartment. And those two bastards located under the radio. I changed those to wing nuts :yesnod:

Re: OK, The hardest thing to do is "?" on a vette. (thejaf)
I've done quite a bit with the Vette and I'd have to agree that the spark plug routing is pretty difficult (which is why I am not routing the correct way, so there is a way to get around that one) ;) But the biggest PITA is the @#$@#$ fuses. Usually you expect this to be an easy job so it pisses you off when you actually try to do it. Especially if its dark and you're stuck in front of a poorly lit auto parts store. :) The rest you are doing on your own time at your own pace and so you can usually take your time and  through it.
