OT: Supporting our soldiers
First of all, let me say that I am in the military and I will be going to Iraq in the near future after stopping in Germany to get a house for the family.
I would like for everyone to say a small prayer or a special thought if you don't pray for our soldiers on the eve of war. No one wants to go to war but if we are called upon to fight, we go with no questions.
God bless our warriors.

I salute you, sir, and may God be with you, your unit, and your family.
May I also take this opportunity to say that it bothers me alot these days that it seems like if a person happens to wonder out loud whether this war is really necessary, people automatically jump on that person as being unpatriotic. Well, here goes: I wonder if this war is necessary. But have no doubt, every man and woman in uniform has my respect and 100% support.
So: Go north, go quickly, do your job well and safely, and come home soon to your family. :flag

Go ahead and flame me but from where I sit which is well outside whats happening I think we should all consider the words of the late John Lennon ...
"Give peace a chance".:nodnod:
I feel very sorry for all those involved, both combatants and non combatants.
"In a war no one is a winner, we are all losers."
Why the hurry George ???? Would 6 months more really have hurt that much ??

I am afraid that if I lived in Iraq I would be in one of Sadam's prisons. Even if it meant being bombed by a B52, I would welcome the chance of perhaps surviving the bombing and escaping through a breached wall. If I die, I would have made peace with God and so be it. Better than the terror and torture with no foreseeable end.
War is horrible, no argument! I just wish more pressure was placed on Sadam along with criticism of his failure to live up to the terms of his surrender. I fear that the protestors only filled him with false hope making war more likely.
Hopefully the appreciation of the Iraqi people will not go unreported like the appreciation of the Afghan's for their liberation. We have not come to conquer; but, to free people from leaders who also wish to harm their neighbors and us.
My prayers are with our troops and the troops of our friends, and with the countries living under such horrendous oppression, including those in N. Korea.
We are often criticized for being too honest and direct in our observations on the behavior of others. I find this most refreshing for a change. To think someone actually means what they say and does what he stated he would do.
