Dang this is an expensive hobby
Let's see..a wobbly clutch pedal ($30 for the pedal) so far has cost me:
Parts to rebuild steering column
Rebuild speedo and tach
New speedo and tach cables
New carpet for whole car
New Hydratech Brake Unit (which will mean I may need a new)
---New Master Cylinder
---New PS Pump
Replace all lights in the dash (there are a lot of them there)
Rebuild or replace steering box...
and there is a whole host of things I am putting off which I should be doing while some of these parts are out.
And THEN I'll be back to a driveable vette. And all this started with a wobbly clutch pedal... :nonod:
Anyone rich want to adpot me

No repair on a corvette is worse than owning a boat. the bigger the boat the more it costs. :cry

For me it all started with a search for an ellusive oil leak in my SB. A BB, a SB, a couple cams & intakes, carbs, engine hoist & M22 later and I still haven't found the leak. Not that I'm looking either.  But my parts pile is growing! :D

Come’ on now Monkeywrench, how much is registration and insurance on a '03 Z06? Let alone sales tax - interest on the loan too? My guess enough to rebuild my driveline each year.
I know I'll have more fun driving my shark everyday than 100 others on the road. :chevy

I guess it's all in what you enjoy, so money is not the question in many cases. No one forces you to own a boat and go off for a day for a couple of measily fish that probably cost you $40/lb after factoring it all in. And on the other side, just because ya got a leak in the oil pan it doesn't mean ya gotta pull the engine and then do a complete off frame restoration. We're all lunatics..... come on... admit it!

Try boating ....
Oh guys, you know I love spending every penny of it... The credit card bill just came today and I was feeling a bit poor...
It's just funny how these things snowball..

I ended up redoing the entire car after having the engine rebuilt. One thing led to another. Oh well, what else do I have to spend my money on? Wait... women come to mind.... hehehe.... :D

Hey Monkeywrench; I know how you feel,I am new to the Corvette world,I paid way too much for the car when I bought it,Now i'm paying way too much to repower it,every time I turn around I pay way too much BUT That feeling of power and fun and the jealous looks I get when I drive the darn thing makes me know that I'd happily pay more if that is what it takes :auto:
