Everything Works--What should I "Fix" next?
Spring is here, weather is looking good. Finished my last winter project, went for a drive yesterday. For the first time in a long time, everything in and on the car works as designed. Hmm, what should I fix next?
Each Winter I like to do something. But I am kinda fixated on keeping the car just the way Mr. Chevy built it in 1974. Stock at heart :chevy
Four years ago: Front and rear suspension, replaced everything made of rubber or could wear out.
Three years ago: upper end rebuild, new cam.
Two years ago: new radiator, engine wiring harness.
This year: complete interior restoration, incl replacing heater core.
Suggestions for next year? Was thinking I haven't touched the rear wheel bearings, trailing arms, diff, brakes...
Hmmm... why can't I leave well enough alone? Everything works now!

I would say do the rear end. Take it apart replace wearables, clean it up, paint it. Could also tear out the diff and rebuild that, if your so inclined. I'd like to redo my rear end some winter, but my limited knowledge would very well render the car undrivable. :lolg:

  You're right! I shouldn't have been so cocky in my claim! Corvette Gods, I apologize! I'll drive the car for awhile! There's probably a squeak or a loose nut somewhere that I missed. ...:skep:

I could only wish. I tried to fix the headlight warning system on mine. Must have bad switch. Bubba cut the wiring to turn the warning lights off. Duh......

I don't think I've ever experienced that! I just replaced the rag joint last night and was all happy. So what happened? Now the passenger window won't go down! DO'H!

Dang it Eddie, :banghead:
You just pointed out something that doesn't work on my 'vette either. I had completely forgotten about the headlight warning light always being on. One of the limit switches was missing, so the only way to keep the warning light off was to temporarily disconnect the other limit switch. That was at least a year ago. ...
Oh boy, something to fix! :bb

Hey, I've resorted to replacing the inside light cover on the T-bar and the door stricker bolts - both from ZIP. When you are done, you are done!
