Adjustment to make transmission downshift quicker?
When flooring the accelerator when the car is in third gear, the car continues
in third for several seconds then, downshifts to second. Is there an
adjustment to make the car downshift quicker? Speed is under 40 mph
when hit the gas.
Possibly the carb. secondaries are not opening quick enough. If so, is
there an adjustment to make them open quicker?
Trying to make the car respond quicker when accelerating.
This is on a 1979 Corvette with L82, turbo 350, 3.55
rear axle. Everything is stock.

Guess I'll take the first crack at it.
You can try adjusting the kick-down linkage and/or going to an adjustable modulator on the trans.
As far a secondaries kicking in, there is an adjustment on the right rear of the carb for the secondaries.

Can you be more specific as to how to make these adjustments. I did
notice a cable running from the carb to the transmission. At the caburetor
I do not see how this cable can be tightened. Did not yet look at the
transmission.
