Removing clutch linkage (69 small block) to remove headers
My right side header dropped right out....
Not so with my left side. The clutch linkage is directly in the way. It seems pretty easy to unclip (a couple of hairpins) but I'm not sure how to remove it from the frame/and or the block. Any suggestions?
What happens when I remove the springs?

Re: Removing clutch linkage (69 small block) to remove headers (MIKES69)
I've checked the archives, and it seems this isn't the first time this question has been asked.... But not a lot of responses.
Where do you think I can find this out... Maybe my assembly manual...
Someone's done this... HELP!! It's 69 degrees today and I'm getting the fever. Got to get my new headers on.....

Easier than easy - there is a bolt on the pivot mounted to the bracket on the frame - loosen this nut until the frame side can be lifted up and disengaged from the bracket - slide the Z bar off the block mounted pivot - let it hang limp and the headers will come out - provided you dissconnect pedal from z-bar.
Nothing happens when you remove the springs, just remember where they were mounted.

The horizontal part of the linkage assembly can be unbolted from both the block end and from the bracket that holds it to the frame.

Thanks Fauxrs...
Seem like you always come up with something for my questions...
I'll do it tomorrow.

The bolt refered to above is actually a nut.
Check the nut first, there should be a french (freedom   ) lock. It engages with a little "tang" in a slot cut in the frame bracket and there should be another "tang" bent over one of the flats of the nut. Then just do as described above.
Easy as pie
