Cost for paint job?
The daily wear and tear on my car is starting to show on the paint. Overall, the paint is good, still shines and is not faded.
But, I've got a few places where the paint is beginning to chip, especially on the rear wing. In addition, I have about 4 or 5 stress cracks, and a small chip in the door from the door hinge.
I want to get a professional paint job, not the $199 specials advertised on TV. When I have the car painted, I don't want to worry about any of my current problems returning.
In general, what can I expect to pay to repaint my car it's original white color, and to fix the body damage?
Thanks! :seeya

I would say anywhere from 2k to 5k for a Decent paint job is what I would expect. Depends on the body work needed and the quality of paint you choose! :auto:

Re: Cost for paint job? (shotgun_000)
Your basic Paint job can cost anywhere from $3000.00 to$800.00. That should include removing most of the trim. You also have bodywork thats need done the price goes up.without seeing the amount of damage in the stress cracks, it hard to say what it will cost. From what I have seen in the past, i would say anywhere from $400.00 to $1000.00, and that is based on a bodyshop that charges $40.00 a hour. It will be more or less in your area.
Questions to ask
what all does your paint include?
removing all trim( window felts, lights, door handles, locks, mirrors, all chips in the paint.
will the car be buffed to you perfection?
HOW LONG is your warranty? 1 year or 5 years That is against workmanship.
What Brand of Paint do you use and what warranty comes with it?
For example (if my paint flakes off with no signs of a chip who will take care of the problem?)
How long will the process take?
These are just a few of the question you should ask the shop?
Good Luck  Larry

:iagree:
I have a 5-10 ft car. If your that far away it looks good if your right on it then yea, there are some problems but not too bad. I could spent the 300-400 and get a halfway decent job or spend 3-8K (which I don't have) and get a good job. In a few years I will spend 1-2K for a decent paint job. I use mine everyday possible. I can't see spending 8K for a paint job and drive to work the first day and cry because a rock chipped the paint.
You can spend anywhere from 199-10K for a paint job. Just depends on quality and how much prep you do yourself.
