[Vacuum system] Should be a simple question
Here's a pic of my vacuum system where it connects to the manifold source.
So, the source (1) goes into a tee. (2) heads toward the main vacuum canister. Out of the canister comes a feed for the wiper door. which splits off to (3), which is supposed to head toward the A/C supply (according to some diagrams I've seen)? Does it make sense that this reconnects to the manifold source?

Take at look at this drawing....it doesn't show anything going back to the manifold....but this is just the headlight and wiper door lines.

Here's the drawing I was referring to. In the lower right corner, you see the reference to A/C vacuum source. I have no idea what this should connect to, or whether this is what is throwing off my wiper door functioning.
By the way, is there any electrical involved with the wiper door working? If so, that may also be my problem.

BTW, my wiper door relay is located on the passenger side, right by the wiper reservoir. Is this correct for a '69? I notice your diagram shows it on the driver's side behind the firewall.
Just curious.

Ok...here goes....
The A/C vacuum sorce should attach to the little line with the white connector that you have sticking out of the firewall behind the distributor. This is the vacuum sorce for the heater and AC vents in the dash.
The only "electrical" part of the wiper door control is the wiper switch relay. It "sees" current when you turn the wipers on, then it opens applies vacuum to the wiper door control valve.

So, in your opinion, I can remove the connection in my first post (indicated by hose (3) entirely? I will definitely try that and see what I get.
Thanks.

Re: [Vacuum system] Should be a simple question (A C)
You guys are simply a world of knowledge. I have not found the build sheet for this car so I was unaware of whether it was an early or late 69. Good to know for future.
Thanks.

Martin,in your diagram, the single vac leadin the middle of the diag is the one that comes from the manifold.in other words, you start with manifold source, then comes vacuum filter, then the check valve with one inlet, two out lets......hope that helps.....john ;) :chevy
