Default Sidemount Headers and 4"pipes for C3 with ZZ4?

I am considering Hooker chrome SB Sidemount Headers (made for SB 63-66) and chrome 4" collector and sidepipes in my 80C3 with ZZ4 engine. Heater hoses and AC have already been removed. Presently with ceramic Hooker headers, twin 2.5 pipes and 304 SS twin-pipe Borlas that may be for sale. No emmision control issues anticipated for a 20+ car.

Anyone tried this installation (pics), any difficulties?

Jack, those would look amazing on your car! What about the Borlas though?

Flav,
The twin-pipe SS Borlas are amazing mufflers but I'll sell the complete exhaust system if anyone is interested. Just checked with mechanic, he's done a couple sidepipes for C3s and the sidemounts fit. I'll probably weld an O2 plug on the 4" collector. Exhaust will be louder (like 1Bad69). Spring fever has started!

The headers slide right in and the pipes bolt up. maybe an hour job once you get the old exhaust off. i lov them.

A number of vettes here are running the Hooker sidepipes including me. Not a problem. You may have to notch your rocker panels for clearance though. 50/50 chance.
I bought mine through Jet Hot coating with the corvette forum discount. Jet hot coated inside out with all the hardware too for about 1,100 I think shipped to the door. Talked to Todd

Thanks nice instalation. Looks like you are going for the frame-off. Big job. My computer packed it in last week which is reason for late reponse.

I am curious about the noise. Did you install the 3" or 4" side pipes and are the internals pulled or still there? Do they sound too loud with your engine?

I used the 4" tubes and the headers are 1 7/8 inch primaries. I had reverse flow mufflers in the tubes but took them out and placed spiral inserts in them. They have a good sound and do not choke down the exhaust.
