hey people, i got my first wave from a fellow corvette owner today! :thumbs:
i passed a red C4 goin the other oway, and he kinda did the little half-wave and the head nod. :D it may seem stupid, but to me this is what owning a vette is all about :steering:
also, within that same hour, i passed by another red C4, vert this time, with 2 incredibly hot chicks in it. they honked at me as they went past, :D :D :D

oh yea, while i'm tellin you this, i'll let you know that i drove my vette for a total of an hour and a half today, and the jb weld is holdin great. i had to change lower radiator hoses too, my old one was leakin...now no antifreeze leaks! of course i leave the cap loose, so alot boils out over time...but at least i don't lose any while i'm just sitting there. oh well, i love this machine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !! :thumbs: :hurray: :auto: :party: :chevy :jester :) :yesnod: :crazy: :cheers: :cool: :D

My experience has been this: C2,3 guys ALWAYS wave. ( I never see C1's driven anymore)
C4 guys wave 50% of the time and
C5 guys almost never.
There a ton of retired people living in the Fort Myers area. I think a lot buy new Vettes, mainly verts, to recapture lost youth. They probably don't even recognize anything besides a C5. I think most (of the C5 owners down here at least) have no idea what the specs are on their car like HP or 0-60 times, let alone know about the comradere of Vette owners. A VP at my college just got one, but he seems a little more in to it than most his age. It's pretty cool walking around campus seeing his yellow vert on one end and mine on the other. Guess you could say we have some scenery. :D

I had a black Z-06 pull up next to me a few months ago(before I took this thing apart) at a stop light on a Saturday afternoon and we both acknowledged the ownership with a friendly wave. He then pulled behind me for the next 5-6 miles and mirrored where ever I went. The *old* and the *new* trailing along.... pretty cool. And even when he found his destination and pulled to the side it was another friendly wave. You are going to find those that do not go along with the tradition, but the majority are pretty nice people and all of us should be the first to wave if you see another vette owner first. If they don't wave back? So be it... their loss and maybe one day they catch on. Hell.. I wave at all of the muscle car owners. They deserve it for keeping them restored and on the streets.

I love the wave!!!!

I used to get the wave in my old Jeep CJ5 and on my Harley and in my vette! The wave is what binds us together as drivers of discriminating vehicles! Either that or we are just nodding to each other and thinking "you spend a ton of money on your car too." :lolg:

Ill never forget my first wave 2yrs agao. I just got my 77 and was on my way to the gas station 1/2 mile from the house. Another 77 going the other way rolled down his window and gave a hearty full arm wave. I returned it..not knowing why. Well...a few months and many waves later I found the Foum, and found out the significance of "the wave" and found out that 77 owner was a Forum member and a neighbor!!! HI TOM!!! We do a lot of waving down here, even C5s! This may have something to do with the fact the local Corvette club has 350 members :eek:

The only ones who don't wave are the ones who are obviously leasing their vehicles -- you know, the idiots with the cell phones taped to their ears! :lolg:

I also wave, but I also enjoy the "cool" looks and comments from kids when I pull up next to a loaded school bus. No matter their age, they all just love Vettes.

Who doesn't enjoy "The Wave"!?!?! Ever since I was a kid, I thought it was soooo cool!

It sucks when you don't get a wave back.

Hey, if you think it was neat that 2 Vettes waved to you in an hour and a half, wait till you go to Bowling Green during a big Vette event and all you see are Vettes passing by, waving at you!!
