K & N Extreme filter
I have a K & N filter on my car right now. Has anybody added the K & N Extreme filter? Could you feel the difference? Is it worth the money?

I see you are running a ZZ4 motor. You might see a small difference at top end. They advertize more airflow than a stock filter, which isn't hard to do, but it depends on the ablility of the motor and drive train to need more air flow. However, there is the cool factor with the ability to say "I have a K&N filter.

I've heard mixed reviews on K&N filters. I kinda find it hard to drop that much coin into an air filter when my car needs so much other stuff

A friend of mine has the extreme lid and he says it makes a slight difference. If you are going for allot of HP then it should help allot. I think it looks really cool though, I thought about getting it for looks but went chrome instead.

My theory is that the air that comes in through the cowl induction will have a straight shot down to the carburetor. And yes it would look cool.

I have that on my car...can't really say how much of a difference it made as i had a few other things done at the same time...i can't see it making that much of a noticeable difference though...looks cool though....

I added it to my 383,took the chrome delco off.Yes I saw a difference. If nothing else the slightly rich idle I had is gone.Seems to help on the top also. With the money I've spent on this car that was dirt cheap.

The lid would be great if you're running a drop base to squeeze a setup under the stock hood, cause then you can use all the extra air flow you can get

Ive got the kN filter and the KN extreem lid on my factory cowl induction setup. It cant hurt to have more filter area. It just insures that the breather wont be the cause of air starvation if that ever becomes an issue. I wanted the lid in addition to the regular filter because the filter that fits the cowl breather is kinda small to begin with. With the lid added it opens it up more.

Re: K & N Extreme filter (Jvette73)
I do not have the Extreme, but recently went from a 3" paper filter to a 3.5" K&N. The difference was quite noticeable.
