I answered Chevy, but I fell like there is some kind of trickiness going on here :D The 57 and 59, has me messed up a little. It's probably F**D.

Leave it up to the collector car writer to put this long-debated issue to rest:
During the period 1957-1972:
Ford produced 27,579,638 cars (#1 in '57,'61,'66,'70 and '71)
Chevy produced 30,327,749 cars (#1 in '58,'59,'60,'62,'63,'64,'65,'67,'68,'69 and '72 -- although production figures '62-'69 have always been calculated based on estimates, so the actual figures might actually be lower.)
And FYI, Pontiac and Plymouth are next in line, but far behind.

Most popular based on numbers sold, or most desireable among collectors? There is quite a bit Mopar muscle in that date range.
