Default Suppliers of Tremec TKO's??

Just wondering who else is out there besides the obvious like Forte's and Black Horse Performance. How about their prices and availability of getting the special yokes, u-joints, all at once??
Thanks
Chris

2 other places are D&D Performance(ddperformance.com) and Hanlon Motorsports. I got my TKO from Hanlon several years ago, good service and price at the time.

Swarr automotive sold me mine, they include some of the extras like backup light switch and speedo cable stuff that fortes charges extra for - they do not have the yoke.

Small tip - DO NOT consider a TR-3550 for a C3 there is no such creature as the quick release yoke for the tranny and Forte's is no longer making any for that - just the TKO.

Swarr auto was nice enough to take back the TR-3550 I bought from them (without any kind of restocking fee) let me pay the difference between the 3550 and the TKO and will ship me that.

Eric swarr has been very helpful and polite.

I got mine from Hanlon too.. However - I had to wait several weeks until the transmission was available.... So far - I'm very satisfied with the transmission!!

Will I need a whole new speedo cable or just the correct gear for the trans depending on my rear gears? Who provides the gear with the purchase of the trans besides Swarr?
Thanks
Chris

I too went with Swarr. Not only were they cheaper, but they had it in stock, shipped it right away, and had cheaper shipping than anyone else. Hanlon told me 6 weeks and $90 shipping  Swarr was 2 days and $45. Take your pick.

I wanted the ford version of the TKO not the modified GM version so I just went to the local 5.0 depo and they had it in stock. I did have to make an adaptor plus a speedometer adapter. It comes with the shifter, just not the shift lever and a ****. I robbed both from my mustang stock parts. It also comes with a C6 yoke which I modified into a quick take apart.
I did it this way because I wanted the much cheaper prive of the ford version and if I wanted to resell it there is more of a market with the mustang crowd. The adaptor plate also allows me to index the transmission easily.
This is a shot of the adaptor plate on the back of a chevy bellhousing with a ford transmission.

Swarr looks like it might be a top choice...they are in PA and im only in NJ so shipping shouldnt be too bad.
Do they include the yoke, stock shifter, speedo gear, and back-up light switch? Obviously the yoke would be incorrect, but if they include it, will they refund the price of it?
Also, is the stock shifter that comes with most of these trans any good or should i just get a good one now??

Thanks for all the help guys...I am planning on calling some of these places tomorrow, but am way too impatient to find this stuff out. Just will confirm it tomorrow
Thanks again!!
Chris

They do not include a yoke, they will include the speedo adapter but the gear is extra (like a couple of bucks) -they will include the backup switch. If you give him the information needed (rear gears tire dia. etc... he will figure out which gear you need)

I have been told the shifter that comes installed is garbage - buy a pro 50 (five-oh) from him, he will probably swing you a decent deal snce you are buying a trans from him - he did to me.

Hanlon's TKO's come with the correct speedo gear.. They'll ask you what gears and tire diameter you are running and according to your information - they will include the correct gear...
