Who actually likes to drive their Vettes?
Now that I got your attention: A guy on the events page is looking to see who wants to go on the CAM AM Caravan this year from Windsor, Ontario, Canada down to Marietta, Ohio. I went last year and had a blast. However, I was the only C3. The others couldn't believe that a 34 year old car could hang with the C4's and C5's. I know some of you have much better prepared cars than me, and would have a great time. Head over to the Great Lakes events section and respond to the post if you're interested and seeing what driving a Vette is all about.

Last year, we put about 800 miles on in two days. This was by far the best 800 miles I have driven.
AS far as setup, I didn't have the new wheels and tires last year. Also, my shocks aren't up to the task. I have receipts showing the previous owner replaced the front bushings, but the ball joints, idler arm, etc need some attention.
Thanks for the compliment, though. I was just implying that the guys with VBP kits, and poly bushings; this is the reason you get them, to drive the wheels off the car.
Are you thinking of making the drive from Atlanta?

I can understand; driving to Maryland with truck and trailer can easily lighten a wallet.
In case I didn't mention it, this drive is to raise money for the Make-a-Wish foundation. We had about 12 people last year, and raised a good amount of money, but it's always nice to raise some more. The guy organizing it does a great job, and every participant came away with some nice prizes based on the amount of money raised.

I'd be interested in joining the pack. However, I would have to hook up in MI, not Canada. They don't like me over there for some reason :D I'll need more details, and a date once it is set. I think my C3 will make it okay.

I don't know these guys are so amazed. I have a C3 as many others in our club and we go on any outing a C4 or C5 go on. I don't take mine up to 120, but I have no problem running on interstates in this country. We have a '62 that goes on every outing. These cars were all designed to run a fairly high rate of speed, and being most of these cars have been totally rebuilt, they should have no problem at all.

HDIronman,
Last year, a fair number of Michigan guys met the Canadian group at the Cracker Barrel off I75 at exit 15. You won't regret coming on this trip. I have two buddies with 69's that also plan on coming this year. I think it would be great to have a good showing of C3's. The data hasn't been set, but keep checking on the Great Lakes Events section.
