I need to buy new tires for my truck and had seen a lot of posts on here for Tire Rack. I went out there and found the size I wanted. 285/75/16 and they had the BFG all terrains for $167 incl mounting and balancing. TR have the same tire for $168 so the better deal is Discount tire and I don't have to order them. I am just wandering if anyone has done buisness with these guys in the past or if you guys know of a cheaper place.

Discount Tire has many retail stores in our area. I've bought tires there many times. I would not hesitate to order direct from them. They're OK!

I definitely have to vouch for Discount Tire. I bought a set of wheels about two years ago and couldn't be happier with their service. They answered every email I sent them asking them for different wheels specs (including weights) while Tire Rack ignored all of them. The sales people over the phone were great too answering even more questions (out of fairness, so were Tire Rack's). Would definitely do business with again.

I have tires purchased from them on both the Vette and my Suburban. Good guys that work there, they will match prices if you have an ad for a lower price.

That's the only place I've bought tires for the past 10 years. I've been very happy with the prices and there service. Too bad I had just put new tire on our 91 Prelude just before it was stolen! :eek:

I used to be right along with everyone else here as far as being satisfied. However, the last two times I've needed to use the road hazard insurance they sell, I might as well have gone somewhere else. Word of advise, don't pay the extra as in my case (twice) they have not honered it. Me and my family have spent no less than $10,000 with them over the last 20 years(I once had them do a complete suspension replacement on a 68 firebird), but now neither me or my family will ever go there again. We have done so much business with them and could have kept doing so only if they had done business the honorable way. I know the other posters are happy with them and you may be too, but I'm just telling you why I no longer am.

Hey guys just to clarify. Are we talking about a regular brick and mortar franchise or is there a web site out there for a discount tire? The place I am talking about is a regular buisness that I called here in Charlotte but if there is a Discount tire on the net then I need to check into that.

I friend here bought 4 tires from discount without the warranty for his jeep.

then he went to another discount store and bought one more for his spare, with the road hazard warranty.

Now whenever any of his tires has a problem he has the warranty to fix it.

P.S. I'm not condoning this scam. but it worked for him.

personally im a firestone guy myself always have good deals and in stock of what i want i would recomend them hands down but it could be totaly different out there

I'm in georgia,used local discount tire,they are super , best price ,great service,bought a set of boyd coddington 17x8 blaster wheels,a set of dunlop
sport a 2s.they are great great great to work with.(at least the shop i used)

I've used them for years , and they just opened a new store by my house. I took the slug there to get a new set of BFG T/As and I couldn't have been happier with the service. They were extremely careful with my car, which is uncommon. Also, I had to go back afterwards because I had one tire installed on the spare rim, and put the best of my old tires as the spare. When I got home and installed my trim rings, it turned out that the rim for the spare is a 7" (the other four are 8"), and my trim ring wouldn't fit. I took that rim and the 'new' spare back and they swapped 'em free of charge. I would recommend them anytime.
