I got the Grand National 200-4R!
My dad picked up a Grand National 200-4R 4spd automatic overdrive transmission today. It was $500 and we got the torque converter and driveshaft with it. It was recently rebuilt so I'm just going to stick it in and run it without another rebuild, atleast until I fry it with the higher output motor I'm going to build.
The guy we bought it from had a torn apart GN and he was going to put a V8 of some kind in it. What sucks is that it was a running and driving car before and he tore down a perfectly good Grand National. Ah well, atleast I gained from it.
What's a good shift kit for it? Would the stock converter be enough or should I buy a higher stall one? I'm open to suggestions there. More tips on the install would be nice. I guess it won't be hard to set the TV cable so there is no need to buy BowTies TV-Made EZ (sounds more complicated than setting the stock one). I'll need a big tranny cooler too. What's the best place to mount that?
