Default $41.60 to fill up!!!!!

It has gotten insane here in southern California (San Diego to be specific) I filled up on premium this morning to the tune of $41.60....that was 18.5 gallons at 2.24 (9 tenths) at the cheapest station in my neighborhood.

I may have to find that other car of mine. :jester

I know what you mean. Right now I am going through classifieds looking for a cheap motorcycle. They are great on gass, and if I find one cheap enough it will pay for itself in no time.

I never thought I'd say this, but thank god for low compression emissions engines!! Even 87 ain't too cheap, I thought $1.63 was bad...

chris, don't go investing in that motorbike just yet. once this very long overdue milary action comes to it's inevitable conclusion, gas prices will fall like rocks. just like the last time. not that i blame oil companies for building up a buffer (at our expense :cuss ) but after the last gulf war oil price were down from $30+ a barrel to $10-15 per. it'll happen. it's just taking waaaaayyyy too long. i'm thinking that even by the beginning of summer gas prices will be back down to ~$1.50/gal, even in kalifornia.

BAH! How about paying 1.99 a gallon for a Diesel that has a 40 gallon tank   I never thought I'd pay more for less refined fuel than the premium gas!

That's why I drive this daily.

Good ole trusty, 144K, never anything other than oil changes and still 31-45 MPG.

Some experts predict the prices this summer at over $3 per. gal. (for the cheap stuff) :mad

I really hope your prediction is right.

It was $2.15 for premium. So every tank full for me is over $50 when it's low I always have to put in 24-25 gallons.

I'm just putting in that big cam to knock my mileage down some. :jester

Try regular unleaded. I know that you might feel bad for putting something regular in your vette but 98 octane isn't usually required.

98 octane!!!!!! In San Diego the best we have is 91 octane, and it costs $2.27 at Exxon.
